Projects designed to build skills while producing beautiful objects

To register for classes, call 842-8183, or come in during our regular business hours, Mon.-Thurs., 10am- 8pm, Fri. & Sat. 10am-6pm, and Sun., 1-5 p.m.

Payment in full is required at the time of registration to guarantee your space. If you must withdraw from a class, please call at least 2 days in advance or you will forfeit your fee.

Please pre-purchase supplies and tools according to the list provided in the store, or allow at least 45 minutes to shop before class begins.

All supplies must be purchased at Meant to Bead. You will receive a 10% discount on all class supplies and tools.

CHILDREN’S CLASSES

Most of the following classes are designed for age 14 and up, except Class Basic Loom Techniques, which is open to anyone over age 10. For other beading activities available for children, please call Julia at 419-842-8183, Tues.-Sat.

Class #1: Basic Bead Stringing

This introduction to beading will help you become familiar with materials and terms related to jewelry making, as well as completing a single strand necklace or bracelet.

Class #2: It's A Wrap

This is a great look! Use leather and beads to make a "one wrap" bracelet, or make a longer version that can be worn as a necklace or as a bracelet by wrapping several times around the wrist.

Class #3: Intro to Metal Stamping

Create your own personalized sterling silver jewelry.Learn to cut blanks, stamp, polish and embellish them.

Class #4: Play With Clay

Polymer clay is a fascinating, versatile material that comes in an array of colors you can use to make unique beads. Easy and fun! The cost of the class includes your materials.

Class #5: Let's Get Hammered

Introductory hammering techniques class. Learn to bend and hammer shapes to make your choice of earrings, pendants, or a bracelet.

Class #6: Making Cabochons

Learn to cast your own cabochon lenses in resin and apply printed pictures. Special instructions on sizing images in Word.

Class #7: Bead Embroidery

Use the cabochon you created in Class #6,a button, or a center stone and capture it with peyote stitch. Add accents to enhance it and learn to finish it in this 2 part class. Part 2 will be scheduled with the teachers.

Wire wrapping techniques and a semi-precious stone bead combine in this unique ring.

Class #18: Basic Bead Loom Techniques

Two 2 hour sessions. Learn to thread the loom and follow a pattern to create a beautiful bracelet. Looms for this class are available at Meant to Bead.

Class #19: Cellini Spiral

Same Cellini spiral technique with a new teacher! Cellini Spiral is a modified version of tubular peyote stitch. This is a 2 part class. The second part will be scheduled with the teacher.
